Project MacOS86X
Managed to link up to a young man playing around with MacOS86X today. Pretty suprised at his age tinkering with OSX and PCs, and pretty friendly too. Hope to get Kalyway 10.5.1 Leopard from him to try out OSX on my new rig. Been awhile since I last tinkered with a Mac except of course doing cards on my old faithful Mac running on OS9. Feeling excited over the Mac once again, its like Deja Vour!

New Rig and new project
Got myself a new rig a couple of days ago.
Originally wanted to replace my Intel CPU E8200 due to overheating report. Called up Intel and after much checking with Lyle from customer support, I was asked to bring the processor to the vendor where I bought the chip for a replacement.
The vendor, Royce did a check on my processor on another mb and discovered it was running ok. Pinpointed the problem down to my P5B motherboard which I receently updated the bios to ver 1803.
Ended up buying myself a new mb- Gigabye EP35-DS3, Gigabye Triton Casing, a new Seagate 320Gb HD and a new power supply.
Installed XP and Vista Ultimate on it and let the kids tested some high end games to see it fly!
Next project will be to install Mac OSX Leopard to see how it performed.
Read from a blog this could be done easily. Let's see...

Mac OSX on Intel PC
Went surfing today and discovered there are a number of malaysians actively installing and 'evaluating' Mac OSX Leopard 10.5.1 on their Intel machines. Apparently things have gotten much easier these days since Apple decided to go Intel.
Will be trying very hard to download the torrent file and check it out on my machine.

A hectic day
Did an operation today to settle my rig's overheating problem. Decided to remove the processor heat sink and processor to reapply thermal paste and reseat them properly. The processor temperature dropped drastically to around 67 deg Celsius from almost 100 earlier.
Apparently one of the pins of the heatsink fan was not properly seated and the contact between the heatsink and processor was not good. To hell with Intel's 775 heatsink pins...
Received an email today from Cary in reply to my earlier email.
Siew Kiat asked for advice to compress pictures. She has indeed thrown herself into her school blog and puttin more gadgets into it. Pretty amazing for someone who picked up computer stuff at a later age.

New Toy
Upgraded my rig at home to an E8200 2.66GHz processor and upgraded the graphics card to a MSI NX880GT 512MB card. The rig nows screams but is plaqued with overheating problem. The Corsair XMS DHX 2MB Ram gave way and the rig just locked up and couldn't start at all. It was only after replacing the RAM that it works again but the processor temperature still runs very high at nearly 100 degress Celsius. Suspected problem: thermal paste not applied properly and inadequate cooling.
Sister Fung Lan flew back from Canada
April 25 saw Sister Fung Lan flew back from Edmonton landing safely in KLIA. See Kuang picked her up at 3pm and was back in BP at 5.30pm.
See Thong picked her up from there to Senggarang. Will be going back to Senggarang today to meet up with her later on.
